Overview

ScaleTap ("the App") is a PDF measurement and markup tool for iPad, published by Godoroja ("we", "us"). We designed ScaleTap to be offline-first and privacy-respecting. This policy explains what data the App and this website handle.

1. Data that stays on your device

ScaleTap does not require an account. The following data is created and stored entirely on your iPad in the app sandbox:

  • PDF documents you import into ScaleTap.
  • Measurements, markups, scale calibrations, and tool presets you create.
  • App preferences (unit system, tool settings) stored in local preferences.

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it using the iOS share sheet.

2. Data we do not collect

  • We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone number, location).
  • We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, or photo library.
  • We do not upload your PDFs or measurement data to any server.
  • We do not use advertising SDKs or sell data to third parties.
  • We do not use iCloud sync or any cloud storage.

3. Purchases and subscriptions

ScaleTap offers optional Pro subscriptions (monthly and yearly) managed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not process payments directly and do not have access to your payment details (credit card, Apple ID, etc.). Subscription management, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple per their privacy policy.

4. Analytics and diagnostics

The App may collect anonymous, aggregated usage events (such as feature usage counts and error diagnostics) to help us improve the product. This data:

  • Contains no personally identifiable information.
  • Cannot be linked to you or your documents.
  • Can be disabled in the App's Settings.

Crash diagnostics (error descriptions, stack traces) may be stored locally on your device to help us investigate issues. These reports do not contain document content.

5. Website analytics

This website (scaletap.app) uses:

  • Vercel Web Analytics — anonymous page-view metrics with no cookies, provided by Vercel Inc.
  • Google Analytics — aggregated traffic analytics, provided by Google LLC. Google may set cookies per their privacy policy.

These services collect standard web analytics data (pages visited, referrer, browser type, country). No personal information is collected through this website.

6. Third-party services

ScaleTap integrates only with Apple frameworks (StoreKit for subscriptions, PDFKit for rendering). We do not embed third-party SDKs that collect user data. The complete list of external services:

  • Apple StoreKit 2 — subscription verification and purchase management.

7. Data export and sharing

When you use ScaleTap's export features (flattened PDF, CSV), the exported files are generated locally and shared through the standard iOS share sheet. We have no access to these exported files or knowledge of where you send them.

8. Children's privacy

ScaleTap is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. The App does not collect personal information from any user.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of ScaleTap after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
